Dear Pol
io Eradication Warriors,
io Eradication Warriors, No new Wild Polio paralysis cases reported this past week. We are now 9 weeks since the most recent report of a child being paralyzed by the Wild Polio Virus in Pakistan.
World Immunization Week is fast approaching on 24-30 April. This is a critical time to raise awareness about the importance of immunization and the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
NOTABLE APRIL DATE: APRIL 12, 1955…is a significant day in the scientific world. On that day, the Salk Polio Vaccine was declared safe and millions of people were saved from this crippling disease that is 100% PREVENTABLE AND 100% INCURABLE!
Thank you Rotary International, The Gates Foundation, WHO, the CDC, Gavi, and UNICEF for reminding us that this is STILL a global health emergency and that eradication of this disease is within our reach." DICK SCHULTZ, Polio Survivor and Polio Eradication Champion
