The meeting was started at 12:00 noon by our esteemed President BOB LOGAN. The pledge was done and since we were at the Sheraton in the Catalina Ballroom, there was no piano so we recited the 4 way test. These were led by MIKE PELLER.
We had a wonderful video about a squirrel rescue by a young man for Inspiration which surely touched everyone in the room.
AIMIEE GRAVES introduced the guest and visiting Rotarians. Two birthdays were celebrated: JEANNE ZETAH on Aug 23 and JERRY SULLIVAN on Aug 9. Happy Birthday you two!
Next we had a new team of SCOTT VAUGHAN and MARIANNE FREITAS presenting Paul Harris Fellows to MONTE CLAUSEN, EMERY BARKER and DON ROLLINGS. Congratulations! Then the live Auction happened for the Rolling Stone Tickets by SAA BOBBY LARSON and auctioneer, MATT BLAIR. KEITH WIEGAND got the 6th row tickets for $1100. They were donated by JAY GANDOLFI and the proceeds benefit our scholarship students..
The Announcements for the meeting:
There will now be alternating 50/50 raffles and regular raffle fundraisers.
Save the date for the Top Golf Replacement/Social Mixer on August 28th in the evening. There will be no lunch meeting that day.

We were then introduced to Jane Kinyua from Kenya who had received the Children’s Peace Initiative Global Grant and attended USD from 2017-2019. She reviewed the six areas that Rotary International has connecting communities through children through peace. It was such a pleasure to hear her pride and accomplishments!
Our guest speaker was introduced on a video by a newscaster on one of our local news stations……Marc Hammond and Jeff Carver, Owners of Animal Experts, Inc. They visited us a few years ago and we were thrilled once again by their presentation. They reminded us of the safety measures we must take when hiking, and especially working around bees. Rotarians in the room vouched for their fabulous services, whether it is removing pack rat nests, rattlesnakes, or snake aversion therapy! Their company has been in business for 40 years and they offer humane captures of wildlife. This includes mice, bats, rats, squirrels, pigeons, javelina, raccoons, skunks, bobcats and much more. We all squealed when NINA TRASOFF draped a huge bull snake around her neck and shoulders like a shawl! Wow you are brave, NINA. But when Marc brought the tarantula over she said, NO THANKS!We all enjoyed a different venue and shorter drive for some at The Sheraton by TMC. A chicken dinner and berry pie was enjoyed by all!
Meeting was adjourned at 1:45 pm……Fellowship was enjoyed by all.
