BRITTANY BATTLE stepped up to introduce today’s speaker, Dr. Stephen Dahmer, Director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Dahmer approached the podium with humor by commenting that we don’t like to joke about his last name. Dr. Dahmer presented several slides about his background, how integrative medicine is about healing the entire body not creating profits. Dr. Dahmer wants all of us to be rebels. These rebels are those who find creative and innovative ways to improve our health by making small and impactful changes to our lives. We need a revolution and need to find ways to change the system; to create health care NOT sick care; to think outside the box. Dr. Dahmer continued to speak to being a patient advocate for all his clinic patients. He presented several statistics and useful information on the changes we can make and become healthier. Our Make Way for Books addition today is called “I Want To Be A Doctor” for Dr. Stephen Dahmer to sign as we continue to support literacy.
