President BOB called the meeting to order. ERNIE MONTAGNE lead the pledge and song, as GARY HIRSCH accompanied the membership singing “You’re a Grand Ole Flag”.

President BOB presented our inspiration, another moving video from Steve Hartman about Passing it Forward from East Lansing, Michigan. In the theme of our random acts of kindness, the video gave us good ideas for spending our $10 and helping people. JEANNE FLOWER introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. Lots of guests for March Madness!

Our program was by Tara Jackson, president of Arizona Town Hall, with JENNIFER HOFFMAN and KATHY KITIGAWA sharing their experiences with the town hall concept. They choose one topic a year and then go around the state and conduct town hall meetings to discuss the topic. The immediate past topic was Strong Families, Thriving Children and next will be Creating Vibrant Communities. This format allows for connecting to others in meaningful ways. If anyone would like to get more involved, contact KATHY, JENNIFER or CHARLOTTE HARRIS.

Birthdays included TIM PUNTENNEY, who wanted to emphasize his soft side by letting everyone know he plants flowers. KEN LIGHT managed to bring the smudge on President BOB’S forehead to our attention for Ash Wednesday while celebrating the 8 levels of charity. Happy Birthday gentlemen!

HUGH THOMPSON introduced our new member WAYNE WOOD, a retired Orthopedic Surgeon. Welcome, WAYNE!

Announcements included an inspirational video of women in India, March Madness, the March 4th mixer at the Living Room, Home Hospitality needing hosts and Happy Jacksons from LIZ BOWMAN by way of CLIFF BOWMAN and NINA TRASOFF, who moved us with her story of a remarkable Holocaust survivor.

President BOB adjourned the meeting with his quote: “Happiness is when you realize your children have turned out to be good people”, before our end of the meeting toast.
