Our ever-prompt ever-positive President BOB LOGAN rang the bell at high noon, delaying formal beginnings until we could secure our vittles at the buffet.
After an unusual, motivational, and unifying version video presentation of Beautiful America by Charlie Daniels and the pledge, led by DAN KALM, BOB and FAYE MORSE told us next week is National Acts of Random Kindness Week and gave each of us the chance to participate, thanks to 20 generous donors within the Club. Each of us was handed an envelope with either two $10 bills or one, with instructions inside:
- One $10 bill:either spend it on yourself … or on someone else.
- Two $10 bills: spend one on yourself / use one for an act of kindness for someone else.
Then report on what you did and how it made you feel next week. (Pay the tab for the person behind you at a food joint; pay for someone’s popcorn at the movies; give your server an incredible tip, etc.)
Too many guests to introduce individually, so there was a group welcome.
Dr. Kevin Leman was our guest speaker. Using his unique brand of humor, he shared his perspectives on the differences between men and women and the impact of birth order in shaping who we are and how we approach the world.Birthday boys DAN KALM and ROBERT O’BRIEN were properly feted. Happy birthday boys!
PAT ZUMBUSCH and JERRY HARRIS were awarded Paul Harris Fellowships. Congratulations!!
