We kicked off the meeting with JON & Noreen WANG celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! Married in December 1975 — congratulations to this dynamic duo. They led us in the Pledge of Allegiance then the room filled with voices for a rousing rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
JOE DANISZEWSKI inspired us with some of our speakers’ most memorable quotes — a perfect way to reflect on wisdom from the best of the best.
SAA DAN KALM greeted a record-breaking 61 guests! Wow! The room was buzzing as we welcomed visiting Rotarians and virtual attendees.

AN welcomed our keynote speaker in his normal humorous way— Coach Tommy Lloyd, head coach of the University of Arizona Men’s Basketball Team!
Coach Lloyd captivated the audience with his authenticity and passion. He shared that when first offered the position of head coach, he looked at himself in the mirror and said, “If you don’t do this, you don’t believe in yourself.” That powerful reflection became the catalyst for his decision to take the leap — and what a leap it’s been!
Coach Lloyd expressed how thrilled he is to be in Tucson, emphasizing how much he loves our close-knit, caring community. When asked about facing tough teams, he replied confidently, “I am not going to shy away from big opportunities.” His words were met with applause and pride from everyone in the room. It’s clear that Coach Lloyd is a players’ coach — he spoke with heartfelt sincerity about how much he cares for each of his athletes, both on and off the court.
We are truly fortunate to have such a genuine, driven, and community-minded leader guiding our beloved Arizona Wildcats!
After his talk, Coach Lloyd graciously signed the book “My First Book of Basketball.” To be donated to Make Way for Books, continuing our Club’s mission to foster literacy for Tucson’s children
