For this all-day trek to the summit of Mount Wrightson there was a group of six daring adventurers. Joined by fellow Rotarian, Michael Guymon as well as friends of Rotary, Bill & Melody Mesch and Julie Kennedy & Dave Koepper, we began our ascent shortly after 7AM from the Old Baldy trailhead at Madera Canyon. We had a perfect day for this long hike with starting temperatures in the 50's and happily only reaching a high of 68. We actually were hiking in the clouds for a portion of the ascent. After a nice lunch at the summit this hearty group began the reverse trek back down the 4,030 vertical feet climbed earlier in the day. Ultimately, we spent just over 8 hours on the mountain hiking 11.2 miles and we can officially mark this hike off the calendar for a few years. See you all on the trails!
