Greetings fellow hiking enthusiasts,Martha and I look forward to a return to this favorite hike in the downtown area and are hoping for a great turnout as we usually see for this stroll. As we all make that sprint towards the holiday, I am hopeful that many of you will be able to fit this urban adventure into your schedules.
Saturday, December 16th at 8:00AM - Tumamoc Hill
We will meet at the trail head located on Silverbell Road off of St. Mary's Road west of downtown. Meet time will be 7:45AM for an 8:00AM start. We will be starting the hike under partly cloudy skies with temperature around 50 degrees and as it is a shorter hike, will likely conclude around 60 degrees. As always at this location, Do Not park in business parking lots, even on weekends as you will be towed (learned that one the hard way). The total hike is just over 3 miles over 745 vertical feet with the uphill taking the longest. I would allow around two hours of hike time. Breakfast will follow at Seis Kitchen.
