District Governor - July 22nd

 

Emma Carrillo is a native Arizonan. She holds a BA in education, MA in Reading, Language, and Culture from the University of Arizona and an administration certificate from Northern Arizona University. She is a retired elementary school principal from the Sunnyside School District in Tucson, Arizona. As an educator that spanned four decades plus, her career in education encompassed training educators in effective learning and teaching strategies, and mentoring educators for future administrator roles. Emma is a proud member and past president of the Tucson Kino Rotary Club in District 5500. She has served in multiple leadership roles in her club and has been active on numerous community service projects with the focus on literacy. She has served as a member of various District 5500 Committees: the 2023-2026 District 5500 Strategic Action Plan, District Conference Planning Committee, District Service Project Chair, and serves as an Assistant Governor to Region 7. She also completed the Arizona Rotary Leadership Academy 2023-2024, Emerging Leader Program Zone 26/27, Governor Nominee Leadership Training Zone 26/27. Outside of Rotary, Emma enjoys attending movie theaters, gardening, and laughing with friends and family. Part of her personal daily ritual involves four actions: trying something new, improving her home environment, doing something for someone else, and nourishing her soul.
