Hon. Danelle B. Liwski was appointed to Division 6 of the Pima County Superior Court bench on April 8, 2011. She has served on the family, criminal, and probate benches. On the criminal bench she presided over felony cases, competency for trial, mental health court, guilty except insane, and sexually violent person cases. While serving on the criminal bench Judge Liwski helped to develop the first pre indictment drug diversion court in Pima County. Judge Liwski served as the Presiding Criminal Judge, the Associate Presiding Judge and in July of 2024 she was appointed the Presiding Judge for Pima County.
Prior to serving on the Pima County Superior Court bench Judge Liwski presided as a hearing officer in juvenile court, including juvenile drug court. As an attorney she practiced as an Assistant United States Attorney and Deputy Pima County Attorney.
Judge Liwski has been involved in bar activities throughout her career with the highlight working on the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education High School Mock Trial Tournaments.
Judge Liwski received her bachelor’s degree in business from New Mexico State University in 1987 and her law degree from the University of Arizona in 1990.
Our November Events Around Town (EAT) lunches once again delivered what they do best—easygoing conversations, great connections, and plenty of reasons to linger at the table a little longer. Each location brought its own flavor, and members showed up ready to enjoy good food and even better fellowship.
At Kingfisher, diners dove into fresh seafood and lively storytelling, while the group at Vero Amore enjoyed a warm, family-style vibe that made the afternoon feel like a shared meal at a friend’s home. The Women’s EAT at Locale kept things bright and welcoming, with conversations flowing as easily as the iced tea. Meanwhile, the crew at Figs enjoyed a cozy lunch that felt part neighborhood gathering, part catch-up session, with plenty of laughs mixed in.
From longtime members reconnecting to new faces making their EAT debut, this month’s lunches highlighted exactly why these gatherings have become such a favorite—good people, relaxed conversation, and that special spark of Rotary camaraderie that shows up wherever we do.

RCOT Tucson Clean and Beautiful Road Clean Up Service Project
On a chilly, damp Sunday morning, a group of dedicated Rotary volunteers gathered bright and early to tackle the task of collecting roadside trash. Despite the brisk air and the looming clouds, their spirits remained high as they donned gloves and grabbed garbage bags, ready to make a difference in their community. As they worked side by side, their laughter and camaraderie created a warm atmosphere that contrasted with the cool weather. Each member contributed their energy and enthusiasm, turning what could have been a dreary chore into a rewarding experience. Together, they made great strides in cleaning up the environment, demonstrating that with teamwork and positivity, even the toughest tasks can be accomplished. Get ready to roll the bingo wheel and dance into the Roaring 20’s! Join the University of Arizona Rotaract Club for a fun-filled evening of jazz, glitz, and giving back at their Bingo Fundraiser Night on Tuesday, November 18th from 6:30–8:00 PM in Modern Languages Room 311.
All proceeds will support Rotaract’s Period Poverty Project, helping to make a lasting impact in our community. Enjoy five rounds of bingo, guest speakers, and spectacular prizes—plus potluck-style refreshments to keep the good vibes going! Bingo cards are just $5 each (cash, check, or Zelle). Bring your friends and your luck, and help make a difference in true 1920’s style!
The Rotary Club of Tucson members will participate in the El Tour de Tucson on Saturday, November 22, 2025, raising funds for Rotary International’s PolioPlus program. This premier cycling event features routes from 32 to 102 miles, all starting and finishing at the Tucson Convention Center.
Local Rotarians will ride as part of the "Ride to End Polio" team. Donations to support these riders are encouraged.
Community members can support the effort by donating to riders or joining the ride. Every dollar helps bring the world closer to being polio-free.
Lee Borzick, advisor for the Edge High School Interact Club, joined our recent Food Bank Service Project with two students, his Executive Director, and Head of Finance — marking about his sixth time supporting this Rotary effort!

Last year, our amazing Rotary crew spread cheer across 8 locations, working 4 shifts at each location, and raised a fantastic $6,000 for the Salvation Army in just one day. This year, we’re ready to do it again—and maybe even add a 9th location in Oro Valley if enough festive folks join us! So, to all you holiday ding-a-lings, dust off your Santa hats and bring your brightest smiles! Join us for a two-hour shift on Saturday, December 13th—ringing bells, handing out candy, promoting Rotary, and spreading holiday joy while raising funds for local families who need a little extra warmth this season.
Here’s the game plan, “Noah’s Ark” style: two people, two hours, twice the fun. Bring your voices for singing, your cheerful spirit for chatting, or just your big heart. Every donation brings us closer to providing holiday dinners to those less fortunate. We need 64 helpers to fill all shifts—or 72 if Oro Valley joins. Many of you have already signed up—thank you! But we still need around 20 to 30 joyful Rotarians to make this day truly spectacular.
