The social mixer last Wednesday at Barrio Brewery was a fantastic gathering of Rotarians and guests, filled with laughter, great food, and vibrant conversations. Attendees enjoyed a selection of delicious brews and bites while forging new connections and strengthening existing friendships. The relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect setting to unwind and celebrate our community spirit. Here’s to many more fun-filled events like this!
Inviting prospective members to Rotary events is a great way to showcase the club's values and service. Covering the cost of lunch for first-time attendees is a generous touch that can make newcomers feel welcome and appreciated. It's all about building connections and strengthening our impact in the community. We encourage you to bring your prospective members to a club meeting. They won’t be disappointed.
After Wilbur's mishap with a cactus on the golf course, he was nowhere to be found among the happy crowd at the October 28 Rotary axe throwing event. Our fearless President stood in for him and took one for the team! It was a lively atmosphere filled with the sound of laughter as friends and fellow enthusiasts took aim at the targets. With each throw, the excitement builds, and the friendly competition gets everyone cheering. It was a night filled with camaraderie, tasty bites, and endless laughs. We all enjoyed the perfect blend of adventure and good times!
Joined by fellow Rotarian, Don Riegger we set out to hike the Bug Spring Trail to the Green Mountain picnic area. Yes, we were tempting fate, disregarding the weather forecast of 25% chance of rain around 12PM. Yes, I scoffed at the prediction made by the young man at LeBuzz that the rain was going to start in the Catalina's at 9AM. Just before 9AM as the rain started only 1.2 miles into the hike, Don and I quickly and correctly chose to cut today's hike short returning to the car only partially saturated. Watch for this hike to appear again on the calendar for Spring or Fall and save the date for our next trek; Brown Mountain Loop on Saturday, December 7th.
We had another incredibly successful food packing with the Community Food Bank project! Packing 2,800 boxes in one day is no small feat with 26 Rotarians and 13 family and friends. For the year with 4 days packing, we did a total of 277,000 pounds of food. What a remarkable achievement. Kudos to all of you Rotarians, along with family and friends, for making such a positive impact on the Southern Arizona community.

We will be holding our next "Events Around Town on Wednesday, 11/13/24. Remember, this is the second week of the month, therefore there is no scheduled club lunch meeting. We will need the location and how many you will be hosting. Thank you! We have two events set so far. A big shout out to the hosts:
Brittany Battle & Khris Dodge - Tabu, 128 E. Congress St.
Glenn Ewing & Bobby Larson - Locale, 60 N. Alvernon Way
Rotarians will provide maintenance on a section of the Arizona Trail relatively near to Tucson, to make sure that it is in good condition. The work is across gentle terrain and on an expertly built trail. Meet time and location TBD. Great views, a hike, and a work project all in one!
The RCOT Official Tucson Clean and Beautiful Team working on Oracle bright and early
Our next events, same place, same time on: 12/7/24 and 1/11/2025! When these two dates are completed, we will have earned signage designation for the Club. Dear Rotarians,
Saturday, December 14th is fast approaching—we have a big day planned with a goal of raising 8,000.00 for the Salvation Army. We will be ringing the bell in two hour shifts from 9 AM to 5Pm—we have 8 doors and the goal is 8k per kettle. This will provide 5,500 meals to those in need over the holidays in our community.
We have openings in our grid in the link below. If you see an opening that will work for you—put your name in the blank in the location you’ve picked and it will automatically save the link.
