The talented STU GOLDMAN played beautifully on the piano prior to the meeting being called to order by President CHUCK at 12:01 pm.

LIZ BAKER inspired us with talk about how awesome Tucson is and looked forward with the comment, “you haven’t seen anything yet”.

DAVID PASHKOW led us in the Pledge and the “Star Spangled Banner” accompanied by GARY HIRSCH on the piano.

NICK JONES introduced one visiting Rotarian and eight guests.

Sixty-one year old CHRIS SHIREMAN celebrated his birthday and introduced us to the “Senility”prayer.

SID HIRSH, who, unfortunately, is no longer “saving our soles”, praised his sponsor MORT SOLOT (deceased) as a member of “the greatest generation”, and commented how “lucky” his wife Marsha is for being married to him for 66 years!

PP JIM LUBINSKI introduced new member PAUL HOOKER, a native Tucsonan and shareholder in PICOR Realty where he has closed 1200 deals with a value of $450,000,000 in his 22 year career.

President CHUCK announced that our programs are now being recorded and put online on our website and can be used as make ups.  The 4-Way Test is in play; just let the Rotary office know.

MIKE ORCUTT asked for people to sign up to give blood on Sept 5.

President CHUCK gave the first update on car show ticket sales by the six teams.  Each team came in with more than 400 tickets sold.

MARK IRVIN introduced our speaker Fletcher McCusker, Chairman of the Rio Nuevo board, who updated us on the many, many positive happenings in downtown Tucson and the Rio Nuevo district. Quite amazing!

Our speaker autographed “The Girl and the Bicycle” for our Make Way For Books library.  We toasted all the great people contributing to Tucson’s growth, and we were adjourned.
