President CLIFF BOWMAN called the meeting to order right on time.

STEPHANIE AARON gave the invocation. New Member, DAVE EAGLETON led us in a stirring rendition of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” accompanied by ELLIE PATTERSON on the piano.

New member ALICE MILTON nicely handled an unusually long list of visiting Rotarians and guests.

President CLIFF switched the schedule around to allow for maximum time for the presentations by the final four 2018 car show beneficiaries. JONI CONDIT introduced the presenters from: the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF); Wright Flight; Job Path; and Interfaith Community Services. The presentations were all inspiring and concluded with a membership vote.

2018 Final Four Secondary Beneficiaries

Happy Birthday to: JOE PENNINGTON, who kindly invited the whole club up to his ski chalet in Salt Lake City; JOHN LEWIS, celebrating his 80th birthday (just kidding); Harvard and Cambridge graduate GERRY HALLOWELL; and BOB WEBB, who opined about his mentor George Codd (who, as many may know, was the grandfather of member MARCIA KRUMWIEDE).

President CLIFF introduced our newest Honorary Member with a video.  JP JONES is the Dean of the U of A’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Welcome JP!

WAYNE MEYER presented new member JON PLIMPTON with his blue badge. MARK IRVIN presented the club with a check for $4,850 from the Arizona Bowl. Welcome back to ARNIE JACOBSEN and congratulations on now being a cancer survivor.

Unfortunately, due to the big turnout for the meeting, the vote tallying committee was unable to finish counting the Car Show beneficiaries votes by 1:20 so President CLIFF gave the toast and adjourned the meeting right on time.
