President BOB LOGAN rang the bell to start the meeting.

DAVE WHITE introduced the new car show ticket team strategy for this year’s Classics Car Show. All of us were happy to sit at our birthday month tables for lunch as each team chose a team captain, event coordinator, and someone to plan a social gathering for the team. Here’s to a great year selling tickets together!

JAMIE SNYDER led us in the pledge and America the Beautiful with maestro District Governor ELLIE PATTERSON on the piano. Our singing had a rough beginning, but culminated with a solid finish.

We enjoyed a video inspiration on the science of kindness. One random act of kindness a day can reduce your stress, anxiety, and depression. President BOB explained that February 17th is national Random Acts of Kindness Day and that several Rotarians will be engaging in acts of kindness.

ROB LAMASTER recognized several visiting guests on this uncharacteristically cold Tucson day.

Our speaker of the day, the legendary RCOT honorary member FLETCHER MCCUSKER, CEO of UAVenture and Chair of Rio Nuevo, truly wowed us by sharing the amazing work of Rio Nuevo. FLETCHER shared more than sixteen projects that are currently in the works for 2020. It’s amazing to see how Tucson continues to be transformed!

We celebrated three Rotarians birthdays. Both JIM ENGEL and BUZZ DEMPSEY had January birthdays and SCOTT EHRSAM’s birthday is coming up February 16th.  Happy Birthday!

JOE DANISZEWSKI had the privilege of introducing TAMARA CRIMANDO, our newest member, who is with nonprofit organization La Frontera. President BOB followed the script and we all stood to give a warm welcome to TAMARA!

Sergeant at Arms KURTIS DAWSON kicked off the LIZ BOWMAN show. LIZ was recognized by the AZ Daily Star for a Wishing Tree tradition she started twenty years ago when she set out to prove that people were inherently good. Turns out our amazing LIZ was right, as usual! Next, the amazing LIZ taught us that Facebook is for old people and showed us how to access our meetings via Facebook live. Next, LIZ shared the incredible news that SARSEF is in its 65th year of its annual science fair. They are looking for judges and volunteers to help.

President BOB reminded us to wear our Rodeo garb for our 2/19 meeting and then closed our meeting with a fitting toast.
