As some members dressed to celebrate the rodeo tradition, President BOB opened the meeting with a great inspirational video about a cowboy roper who used his roping skills to hog tie a crook! The pledge and song were led by President BOB with member KHRIS DODGE on the keyboard. SCOTT VAUGHAN introduced our many guests for today’s meeting starting off the March Madness campaign.
JON WANG offered a bit of RCOT history and introduced Jim Walker. Jim received a Rotary scholarship in 1949 for one full year at UArizona. He has led a very successful life and credits RCOT with providing important support when he needed it for college. The RCOT has funded $48,000 in 2019 for Rotary scholarships.
Member KHRIS DODGE arranged for local singer Katherine Byrnes to entertain the membership. She was excellent and shared a medley of Carol King songs. She challenged the group to see if we could tell which singer made songs written by Carol King famous. Our membership did pretty good in identifying the singers.Birthdays celebrated included MICHAEL DEEHAN and DON CLARK; happy birthday gentlemen!
Our Random Acts of Kindness effort continues as members have shared their stories about how they shared their dollars. A survey will be sent out shortly about this effort.
President BOB talked about the March Madness Membership Campaign and introduced each of the eight teams, their leadership, colors, songs and team names. Some Team Leaders really showed their enthusiasm! Let's bring in those members!!!!
