Good afternoon fellow hiking enthusiasts,
Updates for Saturday, April 13th for a mid-mountain hike in the Santa Catalinas. As with all of our hikes in the Catalinas, we will meet at the Le Buzz located in the mall at Tanque Verde and Catalina Highway. Meeting time will be 7:30AM with the intent to drive up to the trailheads for a start time of 8:30AM due to the expected high temperatures of 90 degrees in town. As the plan is to complete a point-to-point hike and as there have not been any positive responses yet, I am asking for RSVP if you will be joining. We can certainly car pool up the hill but will need at least 2 vehicles.
Please see below for trail description for the Moderate/Difficult category hike. Also, I am looking at this to be a point-to-point hike so not 8.8 but 4.4 miles. We can determine whether to start at Bug Spring Trailhead or Bear Canyon Picnic area, once we have a little better idea of the weather forecast
As we will be heading up the hill, we will plan on meeting at the Le Buzz located at Catalina Highway and Tanque Verde to stock up on caffeine and scones for the drive up! I hope to see you there and more to follow, soon.
