BiographyDr. Sharon B. Megdal is Director of The University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC), Professor, Department of Environmental Science, C.W. & Modene Neely Endowed Professor, and Distinguished Outreach Professor.
Sharon, who teaches the graduate course Water Policy in Arizona and Semi-arid Regions, has won multiple awards for her contributions to water research and education. She serves on Governor Hobbs’ Water Policy Council. Past service includes the Central Arizona Project Board of Directors and the Arizona Corporation Commission. Sharon Megdal holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.
Her presentation will provide an overview of the water supply situation in the Tucson region, including how Colorado River deliveries may be impacted in the future. The role of reclaimed water and advanced water purification will be discussed, as will some of the information regarding the water use of data centers.
