We had a very successful work day at the Community Food Bank. We ended up with 53 people signed up under The Rotary Club of Tucson. We had quite a mix of people with our Elder Statesman Jim Murphy leading the pack and a couple of students from Edge H.S. coming in at 16 years of age. Overall, we had Rotarians, their families, or friends totaling 43 and another eight students from Edge H.S. plus two of their chaperones. These extra set of fantastic Edge H.S. hands were set-up by Jeanne Zetah and Nancy Stockton. Also, part of the 43 were three U of A students from their very successful Pickleball Club Team…Thanks to Bill Tong and his son Brandon (the original founder of the Club) for arranging these extra excellent workers and hands.The reason we do this work project is to help our Southern Arizona Neighbors in need. So on that note here is the total amounts of food packed:
Small Box Assembly line: 1897 boxes totaling 17,073 lbs.
Large Box Assembly line: 1510 boxes totaling 43,679 lbs. Totaling over 60,500 lbs. of food that gets distributed to five Southern Arizona counties
A Big Thanks to everyone who worked so hard in an effort to help out. Everyone had a great time, and I was extremely proud to see how we all stepped up and enjoyed the Fellowship that was had by all!
