Jim Murphy, a twenty year Member of the Rotary Club of Tucson and Chair of the 11th Annual Tucson Classics Car Show, will report on the Goals for the Show, thank those who made it a success and be involved in distributing the net proceeds of the Show to the five nonprofit beneficiaries.
 
Jim served as President of the Club in 2004-05 and has volunteered in every area of service during his tenure. He is a Paul Harris Fellow + 5, chaired the District RYLA event in 2000, the District Centennial GALA in 2005 and was the chair and then the President of the Board of Reading Seed, Inc. until it merged with four other literacy programs and became Literacy Connects. He has been honored with the Orville S. McPherson Award and in the community with the 2015 Founders Award given by Greater Tucson Leadership & the Tucson Metro Chamber; the Professional Excellence Award, University of Arizona Chapter Phi Alpha Alpha National Honorary for Public Affairs and Administration; the “Jim Murphy Annual Volunteer Service Award”, created by Reading Seed Board of Directors, Inc. and an Honorary Life Member of the Tu Nidito Children & Family Services Board of Directors and the American Cancer Society.
 
Prior to a couple of retirements, Jim was employed at Mountain Bell Telephone & Telegraph, part owner in a cocktail lounge, a Folk Club and a food distribution business, elected to the city council, twice to the Pima County Board of Supervisors, served 22 years as a Public Administrator and 15 years with Pima Council on Aging, serving as CEO when he retired.
