For over 29 years, Paul Bucky has been garnering knowledge and experience about how simple healing can be. Through the touch-healing technique called Bio-Touch, Paul has taught and shared the gift of self-awareness, love and healing to many people around the world. His steadfast belief is that it’s our birthright to be healthy, happy and loved.

 

Paul Bucky is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the International Foundation of Bio-Magnetics, a non-profit, tax-exempt educational organization dedicated to teaching and sharing Bio-Touch. Paul was instrumental in co-creating the Foundation in 1989 with Norman Cochran, the creator of this healing system.

 

The gift of Bio-Touch will be opened for all of us during Paul’s presentation as he explains the power of Bio-Touch and about his own experiences with it. He will describe how he was led to meet the creator of the technique, and what sparks his passion to continue teaching and sharing Bio-Touch with the world.

PRESIDENT CLIFF opened the meeting right on time.

Program:  ELLEN WHEELER introduced John Langellier, Military Historian and Author who presented "Remington Called Them Buffalo Soldiers".  He gave a very lively exposure into the lives of the men in the African American infantry and calvary regiments known as the Buffalo Soldiers.  Connected with these men were Lieutenant Clark and the artist and author Fredric Remington.

 

PRESIDENT CLIFF gave us this toast from Harry Truman "America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand."  PRESIDENT CLIFF encouraged us all to be more like the Buffalo Soldiers, to have more courage, imagination and determination.

Gary Olsen is our newest member of the Rotary Club of Tucson.  Growing up as the youngest of 10 kids on a farm in Minnesota, he learned about hard work and helping others in the community.  Gary has been a Wish Granter with Make-a-Wish Foundation since 2015.  He has also volunteered with Integrative Touch for Kids, a Tucson Non-Profit Organization in many roles including Co-Chairing the Butterfly Gala for four years.

 

Out of high school, Specialist Olsen served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer stationed in Missouri, Hawaii, and Colorado.  Currently as a private investor running Sautillo Equity Company, Gary specializes in helping develop a legacy plan you can be proud of.  He also helps people live life with more enthusiasm and fun by breaking through panic attacks, fear and anxiety.  As a massage therapist running Tucson Family Wellness, Gary has, over 21 years, helped thousands reduce the intensity and frequency of pain after car accidents.  Papa Olsen has lived in Tucson for 11 years with his daughter, their dog and a duck.  Please take some time to get to know Gary Olsen…

My fellow Rotarians,

 

Earlier this week, I received this wonderful letter.  It brings back the memory of our beloved Billy Joe Varney and his, our club's, and Rotary's good works over the years.  It is further proof that the good deeds of today will long be remembered by those grateful for our actions.  RI President Ian Riseley's theme for the year is, "Rotary: Making a Difference."  Let's continue to move forward to make a difference, whether or not we know the immediate impact or can track results, because generosity will always be carried forward.  Thank you all for being such great and generous Rotarians. ~~ President Cliff Bowman

 

There will be a service project on Saturday September 9 from 8:30 to 12:30 AM to help shine up the new offices and balconies in the historic Glenwood Hotel.  There will be plenty of opportunities for painting railings and window sills and sanding of floors on the porches. In April the RCOT launched its first Business Roundtable and, based on demand a second group in June. Imagine once each month joining a dozen of your fellow Rotarian business owners and senior executives to work on issues, evaluate opportunities, make better-informed decisions and develop durable solutions to common problems. That’s the business of the Roundtables.

 

Members create a safe space where no topic is out of bounds, there are no silly questions, and every member is committed to using the group to become more successful and to helping every other member achieve the same end.

 

The Rotary bond creates a great deal of trust right at the start. After just a few months the groups are working at a level that, according to the groups’ chair has taken the better part of a year to reach in groups that do not share that common bond. What types of questions have come up thus far? Groups have dealt with work-life balance, best practices in marketing and communication, team building, managing difficult clients, the challenges of family business, motivating employees, and so much more. At our July meeting, one member commented, “I’ve been to countless marketing workshops over time, and what he said is the most valuable piece of marketing advice I have ever heard.”

 

We are just beginning. Both groups have openings for any member who has completed the Red Badge requirements. There are some limitations. We don’t want to overload any group with too many folks in the same business. If you are interested please contact Gary Hirsch.

The Arizona Rotary Leadership Academy (RLA) is an exciting and innovative distance learning approach to leadership development. Through this vehicle, selected Rotary Club Past-Presidents obtain exceptional training at home, via their computers, under the guidance of some of our most capable and experienced Past District Governors and senior Rotarians. Students will be able to work at their own pace and on their own schedules, within the guidelines of the program. To be eligible to attend RLA the nominee must be a Rotary Club Past-President.
