Lunch at Bashful Bandit ~ Wednesday ~ 10/23/24
Greeting Rotarians,

We are "dark" on Wednesday the 23rd but President Kurtis and I wanted to do a "lunch around town" to celebrate the weekends success and build stronger fellowship among members.

For those that are available we will be having lunch at the all-new Bashful Bandit BBQ at 3686 E Speedway. An updated landmark recently opened by the owners of the Bisbee Breakfast Clubs (minus all the bikers).

They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a large, covered patio. Currently the weather looks favorable for outdoors. Please sign up if you can under Upcoming Events on the website so we can reserve enough tables. There is no limit for this luncheon so even if you decide at the last minute please come.  The lunch is the responsibility of the member.

Let's plan for slightly before noon. Hope to see you there.

President Kurtis and Past President Bruce
Mystery Editor ~ 10/16/24
WELCOME Rotarians announced PRESIDENT KURTIS DAWSON at Wednesday’s meeting.  PRESIDENT KURTIS DAWSON rang the bell at 12p to officially get the meeting started then made the announcement on the buffet, we will have fellowship then at 12:15p we will start the presentation.

We were led in the Pledge and Song by new Red Badge Member SHANNON ROBERTS.  Today’s song was “You’re A Grand Ole Flag”.

The inspirational moment was given by the ever entertaining and insightful MITCH PISIK.

Seargeant of Arms KHRIS DODGE stepped up to the mic to introduce our guests.  Welcome to all Rotarians and guests.

PRESIDENT KURTIS then introduced himself as the presenter for the first part of our program today.  The results of the satisfaction survey are in!  Good news is we as a club look like all the members are satisfied with the programs, fellowship and the food!  Thank you to all who took the time to take the survey.

Next up was a special musical presentation by KHRIS DODGE with BRITTANY BATTLE, there was an assist from MITCH PISIK too!  BRITTANY took the mic and sang, most beautifully, a few songs.  Just a preview of her upcoming Debut that will be on 11/16 at 8pm in The Lounge at The Arizona Theatre Company. They received a standing ovation from the Club.  Be sure to go to the show!

Next up were our Rotary Club Birthdays.  There were four birthdays this week.  Happy birthday to: DORVITA PARKER-HARRIS (10/3), BILL HARLOW (10/8), RICK ROSE (10/16) and ROB LAMASTER (10/20).  A very happy birthday to all of you!

An introduction of a new member was introduced by DON RIEGGER.  DON introduced SHANNON ROBERTS to the club.  Welcome SHANNON!

Blue Badge Presentation next.  A Blue Badge was introduced by KEN LIGHT who presented a badge to ADAM ENGLISH. Congratulations ADAM.

Paul Harris Award presentation by CHAR HARRIS was just after the Blue Badge.  A Paul Harris was awarded to ART ALLIS, PHIL GUTT and JACK CAMPER.  Thank you and congratulations!

The Raffle and King of Clubs game presented by KHRIS DODGE. King of Clubs card was not drawn.  Better luck to all club members at the next meeting.

Next up…Rotary Announcements:
PRESIDENT KURTIS DAWSON started today’s announcements by reminding the members the announcements are on each table to view and listed on the website as well as in the Tucsotorian.

PRESIDENT KURTIS moved our attention to the screen for another round of Red Badge Selfie Pictures.  Remember to take selfies with our Red Badgers.  Next was a slide of Wilbur’s Travels.  Get this guy a passport, he sure travels a lot!
Next JEANNE ZETAH gave an update on the Car Show Ticket Sales.  Lots of members have been selling, we are so much closer to our goal, keep selling! Remember those who are the top 50 sellers are eligible to have dinner with the HOFFMAN’S at JENNIFER’s parents’ house.  There was a slide that included the most up to date tracker.
JENNIFER HOFFMAN then gave us an updated announcement on the Car Show.  Who reminded us we are not done.  We need volunteers for all three days, be sure to log on and sign up for a shift!
JEFF RONSTADT took the mic to give a Happy Jackson then DIANA MADARAS had a Happy Jackson announcement too.

PRESIDENT KURTIS DAWSON closed by thanking all our members and guests for being here today.  The scholarship cups are on the table if you’d like to donate and now with a QR Code to make donations online. Happy birthday to DORVITA, BILL, RICK, and ROB. Welcome to the club SHANNON.  Congratulations on your Blue Badge ADAM.  Congratulations on your Paul Harris ART, PHIL and JACK.  Next week is a dark week due to the Car Show and the following week is a Mixer. Location TBD, those details will be sent out soon.

MITCH PISIK gave the final toast before PRESIDENT KURTIS DAWSON rang the bell to adjourn the meeting.
Our Car Show Mom
Did you know that our car show has its own “ mom"?  Indeed we do!

Over these many years, Marianne Freitas has been our own car show mom. Marianne has provided guidance, incredible support and wisdom for all, especially the many car show chairs.  Her willingness to take on numerous car show duties has been an example for all.

Alas, Marianne is abandoning us for Tennessee to be with her real family.

Marianne you will never be replaced, and we will miss you!!!

Your car show family.  Lee Olitzky
