Our Home Hospitality events are this week, May 23rd through June 1st. These social events will replace our Wednesday, May 27th lunch meeting. We want to thank all the members who have graciously volunteered to open up their homes and host an event. This is a wonderful way to relax, meet fellow Rotarians outside of the lunch meeting and have some fun. If you have any questions or need assistance in registering on the website, please call the Rotary office - (520) 623-2281. Again, these events take the place of our lunch meeting on May 27th.
Our next regular lunch meeting will be held on Wednesday, 6/3/26 at the TCC. Our speaker for this meeting will be UA Professor, Joellen Russell with the Department of Geosciences.

UA Women’s Basketball took center court at the Rotary Club of Tucson’s May 20 luncheon, as Rotarians gathered at the Tucson Convention Center for a spirited meeting celebrating leadership, literacy, and Wildcat pride.
President DOT KRET kept things lively while almost new member JEFF DUPUIS led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and an acapella version “America the Beautiful,” setting a warm, patriotic tone.
Rotarians paused for a Moment of Silence in memory of longtime member FRED BOICE, then JASON FLAX offered an inspirational reflection before DAN KALM welcomed in-person and virtual guests.

MITCH PISIK got ahead of the game and introduced new member ALLAN PRESSEL, so happy to have you on the team!
DOT KRET introduced NINA TRASOFF, who teed up featured speaker Becky Burke, Head Coach of UA Women’s Basketball, for an engaging look at building a championship culture on and off the court. Becky shared with us her passion for basketball, and building a team from scratch. She also gave a shout out to Rotarians for leading the charge in filling up the seats to make us one of the most supportive fan bases in Women’s basketball. Her Q&A session was capped by a heartfelt message from our very own DON ROLLINGS. Bear Down and we look forward to cheering you on next season!
Keeping with Rotary’s literacy focus, the club spotlighted “GIRL BALLER: A Basketball Story About Proving Everyone Wrong,” with a copy headed to the Make Way for Books library—
Club business stayed full-court press: MARK IRVIN welcomed another new member JEFF DUPUIS, complete with plenty of applause.
DAN KALM ran a Way-To-Go-worthy raffle with ARNIE JACOBSON taking the bank for the small raffle. The 50/50 continues to grow.
TOM MCKINNEY shared a shout-out for INTERFAITH COMMUNITY SERVICES, and JEANNE ZETAH rallied everyone toward the Tucson Classics Car Show ticket goal—because that Corvette will not raffle itself.
With HOME HOSPITALITY on deck and Joellen Russell up next, JASON FLAX closed with a toast, sending Rotarians back into the world united by service, scholarship, and maybe a slightly stronger jump shot.
RCOT members, it’s time to register YOUR car for the car show!
This year we’re going to have some amazing special displays, and folks are definitely going to want to be part of the show. If you have friends or family members who’d like to enter, they need to register soon too.
Last year registration closed the first of August, so don’t delay.
Ticket Packets as well as Classic Club tickets are now available for pickup at Rotary meetings along with posters, business cards, and ticket-selling partner agreements.

Our June 6th morning at the Community Food Bank is coming up soon, thank you to all who have signed up so far! Our next meeting is Monday, June 15 at noon, held at The Ranch Bar and Grill, 9155 E Tanque Verde Rd. #177, Tucson, AZ 85749. All members and guests are invited. We will be discussing the book, The Idea Factory: Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation.
On a separate note, please remember that RYLA applications (Rotary Youth Leadership Award, which is leadership camp for high school aged students) become available in October.
