Anne Breckenridge Barrett is the Jon and Linda Ender Director and CEO of the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block, where she leads one of the Southwest’s most dynamic cultural institutions, advancing its mission, strategic vision, and community impact. With more than 30 years of experience across the cultural heritage, nonprofit, and legal sectors, she brings deep expertise in museum leadership, institutional strategy, philanthropy, and collections stewardship, particularly within contemporary and medium-specific institutions.
Prior to her current role, Breckenridge Barrett served in dual posts at the University of Arizona as Director of the Center for Creative Photography (CCP) and Associate Vice President for the Arts. During her tenure, she convened a group of national museum leaders to assess the University’s art museum and spearheaded, in concert with colleagues, a transformative strategic plan for CCP. The plan resulted in the institution’s first capital expansion in two decades, the creation of a new social practice department, and a state-of-the-art cold storage renovation to ensure the long-term preservation of its renowned archive. She also orchestrated the auction of duplicate works to establish an endowment aimed at diversifying the archive and secured major grants from the Luce, Terra, Sherman Fairchild, and Marshall Foundations.
Breckenridge Barrett also served as Senior Director of Principal Gifts and Liaison to the Executive Office of the President at the University of Arizona Foundation, where she advanced transformative philanthropy university-wide, strengthening relationships with principal donors and aligning philanthropic investment with institutional priorities.
Before her tenure in Tucson, she was Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA), where she led a significant restructuring of the division to better align with institutional goals. In addition to overseeing the MCA’s permanent collection, she directed cross-functional teams responsible for the planning and execution of several high-profile exhibitions, including David Bowie Is, Kerry James Marshall: Mastry, and Takashi Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg. Earlier in her career, she held leadership and curatorial positions in fine art museums nationally and internationally, building a broad foundation in collections management, exhibitions, and institutional advancement.
Breckenridge Barrett holds a Bachelor of Arts from American University, a Master of Arts from New York University, and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School. Her multidisciplinary background in the arts, philanthropy, and law informs her leadership approach, balancing curatorial excellence, fiscal stewardship, and community engagement as she guides the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block into its next chapter.
Rotary President DOT KRET called the meeting to order at 12:00 PM from the Tucson Convention Center. The lunch featured delicious salad and tasty fish and chicken along with all kinds of extras. As always TCC banquet staff were attentive to the hungry Rotarians.
The opening of the meeting featured the “My Country Tis of Thee” with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag lead by MIKE KOCSIS along with the return of piano master musician KHRIS DODGE. A heartwarming Inspiration was given by ROB LAMASTER.
An enthusiastic guest list was shared by Dan Kalm.
Our newly added agenda item “The COOKIE MONSTER/SPONSOR” this week was LUIS HERNANDEZ, Hercor Insurance Group. Thank you for supporting the club.
President DOT kicked off the formal program by introducing MICHAEL GUYMON who introduced today’s program and also presented ROB DRAPER with his Honorary Membership Certificate in the club. President of O’Rielly Chevrolet, ROB DRAPER gave a rousing introduction to the O’Rielly Dealership history and the continuous community support of Rotary and other community efforts. Cudos was given to O’Rielly for their continuous support of the Tucson Classics Car Show and the Corvette search every year. ROB was presented for signature from Make Way for Books, “Dream Cars”.
Happy Rotarian Birthdays were given to ROBERT O’BRIEN 2/11, AND MATT SINCLAIR 2/11. Happy Birthday to all!

DAN KALM attempted to give away a lot of money during the 25/50/25 Raffle, but the card was not drawn. However, DIANA MADARAS, fortunately for the winner, was not in attendance during this meeting.

ALAN SCHROPE & DAN KALM had a membership minute asking the group how long they have been members of the club. This was a great way to show our guests that this is one big family, working together for the community and making lifetime friendships.

TRAK was awesome on Saturday morning, February 21st! Our Ranchers were four Rotarians, Diana Cannon, Jack Camper, Jeff Heath and Nancy Gutt. There were also 7 Interact students from Edge High School and their Interact leader Lee, and 11 Air Force ROTC cadets! We fed and watered animals, cleaned the huge rabbit house, cleaned a large horse corral, lead horses and donkeys down the road to the new location to graze, helped load goats into a truck to take them to graze, pulled weeds, raked, and loaded large ranch supplies into a truck to take to the new TRAK location! It was a productive and fun morning! Our next TRAK Rancher morning is Saturday, March 21st!
It was a cool February morning at the Camino de Oeste Trailhead in West Tucson. Joined by fellow Rotarian, Michael Guymon and family members Amy Nelson & Jim Bachman, Martha and I were treated to a hidden gem in the Tucson Mountains. The trail is very well maintained with a gradual uphill slope presenting an easier but amazingly beautiful morning stroll. The spectacular vistas of Saguaro cactus against the mountain backdrop made it seem like we were far from civilization when we were closer to the heart of town!

Rotarians—please join your fellow members as we continue our ongoing mission to clean up Oracle Road. There’s always roadside trash to tackle, and thanks to our efforts over the past two years, we can truly see the difference we’re making—the area is noticeably cleaner.
We’ll meet at Pinz Bowling, 501 W. River Road, at 8:15 AM and wrap up by mid-morning. Expect fresh air, a little light exercise, and the occasional “interesting” find along the way.
All supplies are provided, including gloves, safety vests, grabbers, and trash bags. We’ll also have snacks and water on hand.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, along with a hat and sunscreen.
