It was a festive evening despite the cold temperatures at the home of Bruce and Erin Jacobs. Thank you for hosting our annual Holiday Mixer! We hope everyone has a very blessed holiday season.
On a cold, clear night at the Reid Park Zoo, our RCOT Peacebuilders planted the second Peace Pole on December 2, 2022. Past President Ellie Peterson and District Peace Chair Joe Daniszewski conducted a brief, warm unveiling ceremony. Club members presented a peace poem enjoyed by all.
We’re planning a Human Trafficking Symposium in April.
Thanks to Rotarians and their families who rang the bells at five stores on Dec. 3, we raised $1893.47 for Salvation Army. Some Rotarians donated online to raise another $252, for a total of $2145.47 as of Dec. 6. Our competition with other nonprofits doesn’t end until Dec. 24, so if you’d like to still contribute to the Red Kettle for Rotary Ringers online, go to: https://give-sw.salvationarmy.org/TucsonRotary.
If there are other service projects you’d like to see our club involved in next year, please contact Jeanne Zetah at jeanne.zetah@hotmail.com or 612-859-6137. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Registration is now open for the International Skiing Fellowship of Rotarians in Park City, Utah ~ March 4th through March 11, 2023. See below or if you have questions, please contact Joe Pennington.
I shared with those in attendance on the 13th that this next year I want us to share “Miles of Memories” together. I referenced the memories we have created together over the years and the impact we have had in so many others lives as well as our own.
The children and the parents receiving the grass ball field in San Carlos transformed from a dirt lot. The recipients and their families that obtained their mobility by receiving a wheelchair in Nogales. The memories of our member that participated along with the memories of working together on various local workday projects. Our hiking, golf, home hospitality fellowships and the list goes on.
I ask for you to help me on “our journey” over this next year by sponsoring me in the “Miles of Memories.” My goal is to walk a minimum of 35 miles a week, 1,825 for the year and honestly want to surpass 2000+. I would like for you to consider donating by the mile and we will share the outcome at the first meeting of each month on my progress.
Donations can go to the Foundation toward a Paul Harris, the President’s Discretionary Fund, or others of your choosing. I want us to have fun on our journey over this next year and to INSPIRE each other and our benefactors through the world of Rotary.
Thank you for your support in making our 102nd year one where we create memories together.
