Replacement/Social Mixer ~ Whiskey Roads
The Club's next Replacement/Social Mixer is on Wednesday, November 13th at Whiskey Roads, 2265 W. Ina Rd. (Old Macaroni Grill across from Foothills Mall), from 5:30 p.m. ~ 7:30 p.m.  All members and guests must register on our website,  www.tucsonrotary.org - scroll down the left hand side to "Upcoming Events" and click on the event.  Guest fee is $20.  So come on out and experience Tucson's newest hot spot.  The Event will be both inside and out on the patio (w/heaters) so dress accordingly.  There will be great food and great fellowship with a No Host Bar but Happy Hour pricing.  For those that want to stay and kick up their heels, free lessons in line dancing starts at 7:30 ~ AND ~ we were just informed we will have live music for our Rotary group from a fantastic country singer, Drew Cooper.  Remember, no lunch meeting on Wednesday, November 13th, so if you cannot attend, you will need a make up.

Undercover President BOB LOGAN opened the meeting without face paint, and switched to large sunglasses. New member, TAMARA CRIMANDO led the pledge and song, God Bless America. She was accompanied by Mr. Piano and many talents, GARY HIRSCH.

We had two Inspiration Videos to honor Veterans Day - Inspiration one, from the military saving lives and not giving up and Inspiration two, a good Samaritan who cleans hundreds of tombstones to bring back names of veterans to raise the level of respect.

Due to our program, we had many guests and visiting Rotarians, who were welcomed.

Living legend and special ops doc JON WANG was honored by Rotary for his 40 plus years at the University of Arizona athletic program treating athletes in 19 programs. Thanks DR. JON for all that you have done and do for the University of Arizona athletes and our community.

Our program today was sponsored by Farhang & Medcoff Attorneys and Tim Medcoff said hello to the club and thanked the club for all we do.  We want to give Farhang & Medcoff a big thank you for sponsoring this event and believing in what we do.

After our video introduction of our program, Jay Dobyns approached the podium.  Jay was a federal agent for 27 years in the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  Jay held our crowds attention as he took us through his life stories - a lifetime of sacrifice, much sacrifice. In his 27 years and 500 cases as a federal agent, Jay Dobyns was not afraid to go toe to toe with the evil in our society. He was shot in the back after four days on the job, his house was burned down, and with many threats to his family, he still pursued the evil. He was driven by his job which resulted in much regret, change, and failure. The job became more important than his family. It is suggested to learn more about Jay’s life and experiences, read his two books, No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels - which is a New York Times and international bestseller.  And, his follow-up book - Catching Hell, A True Story of Abandonment and Betrayal - is a bestselling memoir that details the events of his life and career.

President BOB continued the business portion of the meeting by again thanking attorneys Farhang & Medcoff for sponsoring this event.

Happy birthdays go out to MARK IRVIN (Man of The Year - Congrats), JASON GRABOSCH and MATT NANCE.  Happy Birthday to you three fine gentlemen!

TED FORSBERG introduced our newest member TOM ELITHARP, who has been in the club for a little while but was out of town for a bit.  We want to welcome you to the Club, TOM!

President BOB announced World Polio Day, the Replacement Mixer at Whisky Roads on Nov. 13th,  remember no lunch meeting that day and Rotary in the Canyon Nov. 22, all must sign up on the website for these events!

Results of new board of directors for 2020-2022 were given by Past President MARY MARTIN.  Congratulations to KURTIS DAWSON, CHRIS MOONEY and LEE OLITZKY.  They will be serving for two years on the Board (2020-2022).

President BOB closed the meeting with a quote, “Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow”.
