Tucson is unique in Southwestern history in that it was not a cattle town, nor a mining boom town. Our leading citizens in territorial days included Jewish merchants, a nationally known best selling author, a future New York City mayor, and an untiring champion of poor tubercular patients. On the other hand we had our share of gamblers, dance hall girls, and stage robbers. Here you will find a collection of thumbnail sketches, half-legends, and some stories that might even be true.

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and though it may look different than it has in year's past, I am still feeling incredibly grateful. I am thankful for our Rotary Club. We have an amazing group of kind, inspiring and generous individuals that we are fortunate to call friends. This has been a challenging year for many reasons and you have stood strong with our Rotary club and have offered continued support.
Thank you for continuing to put Service Above Self and making us all proud that we are Rotarians and I want to wish you and your family a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
Our Social Mixer held on Wednesday evening at Proof on the patio was a huge success! With COVID restrictions, we had 46 who attended. Lots of fun, food and drink was had by all. What a great outdoor venue. A huge shout out to Bruce Jacobs for his work on finding this venue and working out the details for this social mixer. Thanks Bruce!!!!

Last Friday, Past President Bob Logan had the honors of accepting the Rotary Club of Tucson's 1st Place Award from The Salvation Army. The Club was recognized for the tremendous support of the Kettle Bell Ringing Campaign last December by raising $11,925.80. This effort by the Club helped the Salvation Army with their programs and services. Congratulations to the Rotary Club of Tucson for another amazing service project to benefit people in need.
The Valle Verde Rotary Club cordially invites you to Jazz in the Desert Reimagined. For more than a decade, Jazz in the Desert has been the preeminent fundraiser for the Valle Verde Rotary Club, providing hundreds of thousands of dollars to the music programs of area schools. This year, however, we will not be able to see & hear these young, talented musicians. In the absence of a live event, we invite you to join us with your financial support for these music programs by going online to http://vvrotaryfoundation.net/jazz/.
