Hiking - Wilderness of Rocks Trail - 8/10/24
Good morning friends,

Although delayed in the announcement, hike #3 of the Summer Series is quickly approaching and we will be venturing up Mount Lemmon again on Saturday, August 10th with meeting/departure from LeBuzz at Catalina Highway and Tanque Verde.  Departure at 6:30AM for 8AM start with projected completion at 11AM.  Lunch TBA.

For this next hike on the Mountain, we will be venturing into the Wilderness of Rocks trail accessing the saddle via the Marshall Gulch trail.  I am estimating the hiking distance between 5-6 total miles, with turnaround point at the Lemmon Rock trail, if not before.  This hike is categorized as moderate with approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain.  For reference, Marshall Gulch is 1.2 miles and Wilderness of Rocks to Lemon Rock is 1.7.

I hope that many will be joining and see you on the trails!

An excellent trail through the forests of Mt. Lemmon with scenic vistas of large boulders. Near Tanque Verde, Arizona.

Sister Jose Women's Shelter Work Projects
We have an opportunity to assist Sister Jose Women's Shelter. a 2024 Car Show beneficiary, this year. Sister Jose is dedicated to assisting women experiencing homelessness in a welcoming safe space. Their day center provides unaccompanied women who are unhoused with a stable and safe environment to recuperate from the daily struggle of homelessness and extreme poverty. We'll be doing two donation drives with items their women will need on August 21 and October 2. There will also be two service projects September 21 and October 5. September 21 encompasses weed restoration (picking) and October 5 will be some fence painting. Products we need are listed below.  Contact Wally or Jim with questions.

Thank you.
