Saturday, July 12, 2025 - Kellogg Trail out and back, from the San Pedro Vista
Greetings fellow hiking enthusiasts,
Our next scheduled adventure, out of the heat of Tucson and in the cooler temperatures on Mount Lemmon is right around the corner. The July trek will be another with shorter distance, moderate vertical gain and 2-2.5 hours of hike time. This hike will begin with ascent from the San Pedro Vista, following the ridge overlooking the General Hitchcock highway below. The trail also passes Leopold Point and includes Incinerator Ridge. Although the hike begins with a steady climb, it ends with descent over the same 1.6 miles. A nice hamstring stretch to start the day and the second half of the hike is “all downhill”!
Meet and departure will be from LeBuzz, located on Catalina Highway and Tanque Verde with a meet time of 6:30AM, departure at 6:45AM and anticipate hike start at 8AM. The hike will take about 2-2.5 hours and will be followed by at stop at Beyond Bread, located at the Mount Lemmon Lodge.
Looking to show your Rotary pride? Merchandise will be available for purchase at the meeting on Tuesday, July 23rd! Be sure to stop by the merchandise table to check out shirts, hats, and other Rotary gear.
If you’re unable to attend but would still like to purchase an item, please reach out to Nancy Bevens directly at (530) 343-9920 to make arrangements.
