A Note From Cliff Bowman ~ 2020 Car Show Chair
My Fellow Rotarians,
What a finish!  We had a great time at the raffle drawing event.  Forty or so Rotarians came together (with the appropriate social distancing) to celebrate Make Way for Books and Pima JTED and to draw our Raffle winners.  Bruce Tunze brought his RV, we had several Rotarians bring out their classic cars, DJ John rocked the classic tunes, and Charlotte Harris swept all the awards for car decorating.  Martin Pacheco from Phoenix was the grand prize winner of the raffle, and he came down on Friday and drove away in his corvette!
Thank you for a great finish with raffle ticket sales!  The most recent count was a little over 27,500 with more to go.  Rotarians were out front early Saturday morning at the Gregory School selling raffle tickets to those last-minute shoppers – almost 200 tickets were sold.  We even have the potential to still hit our 30K goal with last minute ticket purchases by Rotarians.  You guys are amazing!
The Online auction was also a great success, and we expect the proceeds to be in the neighborhood of $22K.
This Car Show season certainly brought us new challenges, but each and every one of you stepped up to make the raffle and auction huge successes.  On behalf of the Car Show Executive Committee, I want to thank you and say, “Job well done!”

Inner Peace Workshop ~ 11/7/20
Fellow Rotarians:
District Peace Committee Members, Joe Daniszewski, Aimee Graves and I are inviting you to join us for a Morning of Peace presented virtually on November 7th , 9 am – 12 pm. As described in our recent District Newsletter.
Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors.  Being "at peace" is considered by many to be a state in which our mind performs at an optimal level with a positive outcome. But people have difficulties embracing their inner spirituality because everyday stressors get the best of them; finding peace and happiness in the little joys of life can seem difficult, and results do not seem all that gratifying. With everything that’s going on in the world right now, we can’t think of a better time to offer a workshop than a peace-related workshop like this. After all, doesn’t everyone want peace or find ways for a more peaceful life?
On November 7, 2020, the Center for Community Dialogue will professionally guide us through a workshop to help us understand why Inner Peace is so hard to find and keep and how to better manage Inner Peace.
Please go to to register. We’d love to see you there!
Peace to all.

New Motorsports Fellowship
Hey Rotarians,
Interested in learning how to drive your car on an autocross track or participating in a high performance driver education opportunity on Arizona race tracks? Attend auto related events such as Barrett Jackson, recent car collector event at the Phoenix Museum and other motorsports events? We are starting this new Motorsports Fellowship. Many different groups in the Tucson and Phoenix area conduct a variety of events from car shows to autocrosses, to driving education events (non-timed) and high performance driver education events. A few of our Club members have participated in these events to date so the thought arose to develop the Motorsports Fellowship. If you have any interest and or questions, feel free to call me at 520-444-4109 or email at  Looking forward to hearing from you.  Lee Olitzky
My fellow Rotarians,
I have laced up my running shoes and started #runningforrotary. I usually run 12-18 miles per week or 48-72 miles per month. You can find a form on our website, under the “Member Area” tab, top right corner of the home page, or request one from Dorinna or Kari. You can sponsor me mile for mile for a month, a few months or the entire year. Your donations will go to the area of your choice for our Rotary Club Foundation or even Rotary International. How far do you think I will go #runningforrotary this year?  I would like to thank those members who have already signed up and pledged a donation.
Thank you for your support,
President Jen
