Lambert outlines how Pima Community College initiatives are propelling economic development in Pima County while training workers for jobs that pay family-sustaining wages in high-tech sectors of the economy.
Lee Lambert ~ Biography
Lee D. Lambert, J.D., has been Chancellor of Pima Community College since July 2013.
Chancellor Lambert has long held that community colleges such as Pima are uniquely positioned to address systemic educational and economic inequity.
Throughout his community college career, he has been an innovator in connecting industry and community colleges in order to revitalize communities through educational opportunity in an age marked by rapid technological and demographic change.
A graduate of The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., Chancellor Lambert appreciates the lifelong value that a Liberal Arts education provides for thousands of our students.
Chancellor Lambert received a Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Evergreen.
Chancellor Lambert is a U.S. Army veteran. He was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up on three continents.

It is time to get back on the trails and our next scheduled hike is quickly approaching and I just wanted to get some information in your hands. This is a great hike that I missed last year, due to COVID. With the fall weather upon us, now seems like the perfect time to make it up. As the trailhead begins at the top of Sabino Canyon Road we will also be utilizing the tram service which begins at 9AM and cost $15. Saturday, November 19th; 8:40am meet time at Sabino Canyon tram stop for 9am ride to the trail head This is an intermediate rated hike covering 7.8 miles with 647 feet of elevation gain. Projected hike time is 4/5-5 hours with lunch break at the pool. Don't forget to bring snacks!
The Ride to End Polio raises funds for Polio Plus of our international foundation, The Rotary Foundation. Donations in support of our club's riders in both El Tour and the Indoor Ride not only encourage them to ride, adds funds towards the donor's next Paul Harris Fellow, and is matched 2 to 1 by the Gates Foundation towards Rotary's polio effort to eliminate polio from the face of the earth. Only two countries continue to be endemic, Pakistan and Afghanistan, though recently a crippling case of polio was reported in an unvaccinated young man in the New York City area. Our club's El Tour riders include Matt Blair, Jay Gandolfi, Jim Garrett, Aimee Graves, Tom Lickliter, Ernie Montagne, Lee Olitzky, and JW Walkup. Our club's Indoor riders include Jo DeChatelet, Charlotte Harris, Gary Hirsch, Jen Hoffman, Dot Kret, Ann Lancero, Bobby Larson, Jim Lubinski, Ernie Montagne, Steve Pickering, Darrell Stewart, Hugh Thompson, and Bruce Tunze. Masahisa Goi (1916 - 1980) was a Japanese teacher, philosopher, poet and author who dedicated his life to peace and humanity after witnessing the terrible destruction of the Second World War. He started a world peace movement to spread the universal message and prayer, May Peace Prevail on Earth, as a way to unite the hearts of humanity transcending all boundaries of culture, religion and politics.
The Rotary Club of Tucson dedicated their first Peace Pole on Friday, April 16th.

There are so many wonderful long standing members in our club, but there are also so many wonderful new members. We’re looking for a team of Greeters - 7 to 9 members who will commit to taking a meeting every other month for a year. Want to meet the new members or connect with others in the club - SIGN-UP!! You’ll be working with the new Red Badge folks and making new friends. On a week with no Red Badger in tow—you’ll also get the opportunity to do the pledge and song. I shared with those in attendance on the 13th that this next year I want us to share “Miles of Memories” together. I referenced the memories we have created together over the years and the impact we have had in so many others lives as well as our own.
The children and the parents receiving the grass ball field in San Carlos transformed from a dirt lot. The recipients and their families that obtained their mobility by receiving a wheelchair in Nogales. The memories of our member that participated along with the memories of working together on various local workday projects. Our hiking, golf, home hospitality fellowships and the list goes on.
I ask for you to help me on “our journey” over this next year by sponsoring me in the “Miles of Memories.” My goal is to walk a minimum of 35 miles a week, 1,825 for the year and honestly want to surpass 2000+. I would like for you to consider donating by the mile and we will share the outcome at the first meeting of each month on my progress.
Donations can go to the Foundation toward a Paul Harris, the President’s Discretionary Fund, or others of your choosing. I want us to have fun on our journey over this next year and to INSPIRE each other and our benefactors through the world of Rotary.
