It's June already and what great times we've had so far this year in fellowship as Rotarian friends serving our community and just enjoying time spent together. Tucson Rotary Club demonstrates in a myriad of ways the June theme for Rotary International - Fellowship. When a club survey was done this past December on the vibrancy of our club, most of the answers centered around more social activities, more time for fellowship and more opportunities to get to know our members. Hence, monthly social mixers were implemented, the 5th Wednesday replacement meetings continued, and the Business Roundtables were formed.  Community service projects were planned monthly where members have fun together cleaning, sweeping, chopping, painting, re-roofing, packing food boxes, you name it, while doing good in the community. 

Our Club’s active Fellowships include Hiking with Chuck Sawyer as the guide. Our Golf Fellowship is in full swing, no pun intended, well maybe, thanks to the organizing by Wayne Meyer. We can raise a glass (or two) to Bob Webb and Bruce Tunze for reviving our Wine Fellowship. What a delightful wine-tasting event this past Saturday at Zona 78 where over 35 members and guests attended.  There may be more Fellowships out there in action or ones yet to be created by Club members. 

I thrive on the Fellowship of Rotary. It gives meaning and purpose to my life, in good times and tough times. And it’s one of the two top reasons people join Rotary, to experience Fellowship. So please join me in celebrating Rotary’s June theme, Fellowship.
