Hiking ~ Wilderness of Rocks - 8/10/24

Good morning friends,

 

Although delayed in the announcement, hike #3 of the Summer Series is quickly approaching and we will be venturing up Mount Lemmon again on Saturday, August 10^th with meeting/departure from LeBuzz at Catalina Highway and Tanque Verde.  Departure at 6:30AM for 8AM start with projected completion at 11AM.  Lunch TBA.

 

For this next hike on the Mountain, we will be venturing into the Wilderness of Rocks trail accessing the saddle via the Marshall Gulch trail.  I am estimating the hiking distance between 5-6 total miles, with turnaround point at the Lemmon Rock trail, if not before.  This hike is categorized as moderate with approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain.  For reference, Marshall Gulch is 1.2 miles and Wilderness of Rocks to Lemon Rock is 1.7.
