When we extend compassion, we know it benefits others, but did you know that cultivating compassion also benefits the one feeling and extending it? The University of Arizona’s Center for Compassion Studies, in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is investigating how qualities such as kindness, altruism, mindfulness, forgiveness and compassion impact our lives at every level. In addition to researching these impacts, we’re also integrating mindfulness, compassion training, and other strategies that support our ability to receive, extend and cultivate self-care in academic and community settings. Join us to learn more about how the cultivation of these qualities supports our well-being as individuals, and a society.
